Director, Head of Global Payroll – Florham Park, NJ

salary to $200k + 22% & Options/RSU


This position is responsible for providing strategic direction on global payroll for 10,000 employees in 65 countries across the globe. The ideal candidate is a visionary thinker who can create and deliver innovative payroll solutions. This position will foster relationships with senior internal stakeholders by establishing and maintaining exceptional business relationships and working collaboratively with other Corporate teams including HR, Legal, Tax, Benefits, Compensation, IT, and Finance. This role will support global HR Leads by developing a culture of continuous process improvement. The position serves as the global payroll process expert who drives process standardization, automation, and improvement in the controls for payroll globally and ensures process efficiency and effectiveness. This position will support an environment in which business needs and requirements are anticipated and expectations are exceeded.

 

Finally, this position will be responsible for the coaching, mentoring and leading the team of individuals that provide the day to day payroll and mobility support.

 

The Director of Global Payroll will report into the Head of Global HR Operations and Global Benefits within Human Resources and be responsible for overseeing US Payroll operations.   

 

Responsibilities

· Develop strategy and provide tactical direction to the HR Leads across globe

· Drive process consistency across all Regions and coordinate regional efforts towards global process standardization

· Own oversight of department in compliance with all corporate policies and procedures

· Drive controls and operational excellence including, but not limited to, SOX oversight and Controls & Compliance programs

· Ensure process design supports fiscal and regulatory compliance

· Establish partnerships with third party vendors to ensure effective service delivery

· Coach, mentor and provide leadership development to team members in order to achieve operational excellence

· Build partnerships and solicit feedback from internal and external business partners to define and develop successful processes

· Maximize the effectiveness of technologies and supporting processes to drive continuous improvement and change initiatives

· Manage the global and/or regional payroll vendor relationships, including selection, negotiation, management and coaching

· Provide audit and oversight to the team’s activities and processes, ensuring that pertinent internal and external compliance and government interaction standards are met

· Implement and leverage technology that best fits our program and needs


Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of global payroll and payroll tax experience
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or a related field
  • CPP designation preferred
  • SAP Payroll experience preferred
  • Microsoft Access and Excel skills required
